What is 1000ofus?

With greater number of potential buyers comes greater bargaining power. The more potential buyers there are in a group, the more willing the suppliers are to lower their price to get the sale. At 1000ofus.com, we harness that power by creating a place where people get together and put down a price they are willing to pay for something they want. When there are enough orders, the distributor will be more willing to give the discount people want. It is also a community where you can come and discuss products you are interested in with people who are more knowledgeable. We have included links to as many review sites as we can find to help you shop smarter. (If you own the site where the link is directing to and you don’t want us to link to you, please let us know and we will take it off.)

 

How does 1000ofus work?

The first part is easy. You put items you like in your wish list with the discount you want to get.  As more people add the items to their wish list, suppliers will come to see that they can still make profit with the large quantity of orders.

 

When there is an offer from the supplier, everyone who has the item on their wish lists will receive an offer notification email. The offers are also shown in the product info page. Everyone will have a chance to get in the offer within the offering period which is 36 hours from the offering lock on time – each day at noon. 


Users will be able to reject the offer, make changes to their discount rate to get in the offer, etc within the offering period. Important, if you qualify for the offer and you don’t reject the offer in this period, you will be charged. Cancellation after the offering period will incur a restock fee; currently at 15% of your offered price.

When offering period is over, the final order count of this offer will be submitted to the supplier for final consideration in case they have additional inventories to sell. The supplier will have 15 days to ship the item to 1000ofus processing center. Qualified users will be notified and charged at the discount they have asked for.

Once 1000ofus receives the shipment, we will check for quantity and quality of the shipment to make sure everything is satisfactory. Only then will we issue the payment to the supplier and ship the items to the customers.

 

What is OFUS time?

OFUS time is the date and time you have confirmed the discount rate you would like to get for the item. It is how we determine who will be getting the item should there are more qualified users than the quantity offered by the supplier.

Currently, each product can only have one discount rate for each user. It means user A cannot have 1 unit of X-TV at 10%, another unit of the same X-TV at 11%, and so on. As such, each product would only have one OFUS time.

OFUS time resets whenever you make changes to the item on your wish list or when you reject an offer.

 

What is HOLD status?

When you put an item on your wish list in ON HOLD status, you are basically saying you don’t want the item at the present moment and we will skip you if there is an offer that satisfies your discount rate. We will still notify you if there is any offer for the item just in case the offer is so good you just can’t refuse. You can get out of ON HOLD status anytime and not lose your OFUS time spot.

You can only put the item in ON HOLD status before you receive the confirmation email for the item. If there is an offer and you qualified for it, you can only reject the offer. Doing so will reset your OFUS time. Therefore, if you don’t want the item at the moment, it’s best to put it in the On HOLD status so you don’t lose your spot.

 

How does 1000ofus determine who gets the offer?

To determine who qualifies for the offer, the system would bypass the users who want better discount or greater quantity than what the supplier is offering, and users who are in ON HOLD status. The offer will then apply to the users with earliest OFUS time. In the case of multiple qualifying users with the same OFUS time, it would then be determined by the discount rate asked and then the quantity.

 

What does 1000ofus offer?

Anything you want, legally of course. If there is an item you want, there are other people just like you who will want the same thing, and there is a supplier out there who will want to sell it to you. Currently we only allow brand new products. 

 

The discount offered by the supplier is better than what I had put down. Can I change my discount rate so I can pay less?

Of course. But remember, when you change your discount rate, you reset the item’s OFUS time and you will get pushed to the end of the line. If there is not enough quantity, you risk not getting the offer all together and we don’t know when there will be another offer with the same discount.

 

The discounts offered by the suppliers are never enough; Will I be ever be able to buy the item?

1000ofus has no way to control the price demanded by the suppliers. Sometimes the purchase price on their end is so high that they cannot offer the kind of discount you would like. However, have no fear. By earning OFUS points, you might be able to cover the difference and get the items on your wish list.

 

What is OFUS point?

OFUS point is how 1000ofus reward users for making this community such a wonderful place. You can use the points towards your purchases. There are many ways of earning points. Please check the OFUS point page for more detail.

 

I don’t see the item I want on the site. Are you not offering It?

There are just too many products out there. Just drop us an email and we will put them up as soon as we can. We encourage all users to contribute to the community. Users are free to create the item they would like to see on the site. It’s one of the many ways to earn huge OFUS points. The sooner it’s on the site, the sooner others like you can get together to harness your purchase power. Once you created the item page and the item past the approval from admin, you can add the item to your wish list.

 

The description page for a product is wrong or out of date, can I change it?

Yes. We encourage our registered users to keep our listing as up-to-date as possible so the rest of us can have the latest info on the products. If you found a site with review on the product, please include it on our page so you can help others. (If you own the site where the link is directing to and you don’t want us to link to you. Please let us know and we will take it off.) To avoid abusive entries, we require users to register first before they can modify the product description. Registered users who break the rules on modification will be warned and may lead to banishment.

 

Does 1000ofus accept phone, fax, email or snail mail orders?

As all ordering are considered as on wish list status until we receive an offer from supplier, we can only accept on-line orders.

 

After I submit an order with 1000ofus.com, how will I be advised of the order's progress?

Once you have submitted an order, you will be part of a group of potential buyers waiting for the suppliers to compete for your orders. You can see how many of you wanting the same product on the product page. We cannot guarantee at what point the supplier is willing to lower the price to your target discount, but rest assure that as our number grows, the supplier will be more willing to lower their prices. Once we have verified an offering, we will notify you ASAP and you will have 36 hours to back out of the offer. Once the 36 hour period has past, we will charge your credit card for the product. The products will be shipped to the 1000ofus processing center to make sure we have received the correct merchandise. We will then ship the product to you by the method you have chosen.

 

Is the 1000ofus.com website secure? What type of security features is utilized to safeguard my information?

Security is the top priority at 1000ofus.com. When you submit sensitive information via the website, your information is protected both online and offline.
When our registration/order form asks you to enter sensitive information such as your credit card number, that information is encrypted and is protected with the best encryption software currently available in the industry - SSL. 1000ofus.com uses the encryption by Verisign. Access to all of our users' information is restricted. If you wish to have your financial information removed at the time of your order, you may opt to have your financial information deleted from our records upon completion of your order. For fraud prevention purposes, if your billing and shipping addresses are different, we must verify your shipping address. The tracking numbers for each day's shipped orders are automatically emailed after 6:30am Eastern Standard Time. Alternatively, you can check your order status online to find out your tracking number.

 

What is the standard return policy for 1000ofus.com functional products?

Products sold by 1000ofus.com are supported by our Standard Return Policy unless otherwise indicated. Functional merchandise under our Standard Return Policy may be returned within 15 days of the original invoice date for a refund (subject to 15% restocking fee). Returns require an RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) number. As a way to thank the community in supporting 1000ofus.com, we are happy to pay for return shipping cost for any functional merchandise back to our processing center up to and include USD $50. What is the standard return policy for 1000ofus.com defective products? 

Because many companies offer factory coverage, we encourage everyone to contact the manufacturer directly for information regarding eligibility and specific Terms and Conditions should you want a repair or replacement. The customer also has the option of returning the defective product to 1000ofus within 15 days of the original invoice date for a refund of the purchase price less the restock fee. As a way to thank the community in supporting 1000ofus.com, we are happy to pay for return shipping cost up to USD $50. Please contact our customer service for additional info. As 1000ofus.com does not keep any inventory in order to keep our cost as low as possible, we cannot offer any kind of replacement for the defective product. Is it mandatory to have an RMA number in order to return a product to 1000ofus.com?

Yes. You must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization ("RMA") number within the applicable Return Policy period. 1000ofus.com will not accept returns without prior authorization and an RMA number. Once issued, RMA numbers are valid for 15 days. 1000ofus.com must receive the returned products within this timeframe. RMA numbers will not be extended or reissued. Customer should prominently display the RMA number(s) on the shipping label of boxes containing the returned product.

 

How do I acquire a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#)?

FedEx has returned my order/package to 1000ofus.com. What happens now?

Once we receive the package, we'll credit your credit card back in full, including any shipping costs you may have paid. A Return Merchandise Authorization number will then be automatically generated by our system, and an email notification will be sent to notify you of the returned merchandise.

 

Approximately how long will it be before a refund/credit actually appears on my credit/debit card?


It takes approximately two business days to process a credit back to your credit card and 2-3 business days for it to appear on your statement.

The credit applied is always charged back to your credit card. We do not offer in-store credit.
